All COVID-19 travel restrictions removed in the UK

The government will remove the remaining COVID-19 international travel restrictions for all passengers from 4am Friday 18 March 2022. This is welcome news for everyone wishing to travel internationally. Other countries restrictions may still apply.

  • from 4am 18 March no-one entering the UK will need to take tests or complete a passenger locator form
  • remaining managed hotel quarantine capacity will be fully stood down from the end of March, making the UK one of the first major economies to end all COVID-19 international travel rules
  • contingency plans put in place to manage any future variants of concern (VoCs)

Future travel plans

With our new educational trips service, and with many organisations in the academic sector thinking about travel again, safety and wellbeing continues to be a major priority for us.

One way in which we’re providing peace of mind is our partnership with Sherpa. The platform provides you with the most up-to-date information on a country’s COVID-19 travel requirements, from testing and quarantines to vaccination information. Users can access Sherpa in a single click from anywhere within Diversity Travel’s online booking tools, making it easy to find the information you need during the booking process.

In addition, we have also launched our new customer-facing portal and app for all of our group bookers. This system enables the trip leader, departmental finance, and admin teams to house all trip correspondence (generated from the planning process through to payment and ticketing) in one central portal. Then, just upload the app onto your mobile phone and say goodbye to those ‘paper-based’ pre-departure and ticketing wallets – the app will send you reminders and update you on the day-to-day activities and timings within your itinerary.

While COVID-19 has had a huge impact on travel, we’re seeing some green shoots within the industry. It’s the perfect time to start thinking about educational trips for the future.

Our Study Trips experts are here to answer any questions or concerns that you might have in the meantime. Whether you’re thinking about planning a field trip to inspire your students or would like to know more about the COVID-19 safety measures we have in place, do not hesitate to get it touch with us.
