Day 1

A canal cruise in Amsterdam is educationally valuable as it offers insights into the city's rich history, unique architecture, and advanced water management. It enhances learning in areas like geography, urban planning, and Dutch culture, all while providing an engaging, first-hand experience.
Day 2

This engaging day invites students to explore the intersection of architecture, design, and social impact. At Museum Het Schip, students learn how the Amsterdam School movement used architecture as a tool for social reform, improving living conditions through expressive and functional design. A hands-on drawing workshop deepens this understanding, encouraging students to observe and interpret how built environments influence wellbeing and community life. The day continues at De Ceuvel, a pioneering urban regeneration project, where students take part in architecture and design workshops focused on sustainability, circular design, and creative reuse. These visits together highlight how thoughtful design can shape healthier, more inclusive cities - empowering students to connect design principles with social responsibility and environmental impact.
Day 3

Funenpark is a prime example of urban regeneration in Amsterdam, turning a former industrial site into a peaceful, carfree residential area. Its key feature, "The Wall" by Architecten Cie., is a bold building that blocks railway noise while combining housing, shops, and offices behind a colourful glass façade. Within the park, low-rise villas surround shared green space, blending urban density with calm, community-friendly design. Publicly accessible but privately maintained, the area illustrates smart planning, sustainable landscaping, and the balance between public and private use. Students will learn how architecture can tackle environmental challenges, support livable cities, and integrate mixed-use design with social and spatial awareness
