Day 1

Plane landing

AM - Arrival

Upon arrival into Shanghai, meet with your guide at the airport who will show you to your transfer, and take you on to your accommodation.

Take a little moment to refresh and recover from your long flight before you head out on your first Shanghai adventure.

PM - Cheng Huang Temple & Yu Yuan Garden

Once you have fully refreshed, head out on your first excursion to the Cheng Huang Temple. Also known as the Temple of the City Gods, the Cheng Huang Temple is dedicated to the worship of the city's protective deities.

Once you have taken in the stunning architecture of the temple carry on to the Yu Yuan Garden and its blend of traditional architecture and modern shop fronts. It'll give you a great chance to practise speaking in Chinese.

For dinner, visit Nanjing Road, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. The street is lined with shops, restaurants, department stores, theatres and high end boutiques. There is something for everyone and you are sure to find a dish that you like, and maybe a little something extra as well.

Day 2

Oriental Peral Tower, Shanghai

AM - Office tours

China is one of the worlds fastest growing economies, and Shanghai is one of the best places to see why. Take part in an office tour for a successful local business, where you will be allowed time at the end to ask and questions about business.

PM - Oriental Pearl Tower

Visit the incredibly unique, and incredibly tall Oriental Pearl Tower, China's second tallest TV Tower. Inside visit the Shanghai History Museum, and take the double decker elevator to the Sky Galleria where you can get incredible views of the city, and if you have a head for heights, take on the transparent Sky Walk.

In the evening take the time to reflect on you day and get a different angle on the city from the river. Cruise the Huangpu River and spot Shanghai through the ages as colonial buildings reflect against skyscrapers on either side of the river.

Day 3

AM - Yakult Milk Co

In the morning explore Yakult Milk Co, a Japanese brand known for their famous probiotic drink. Your visit to the factory can provide an interesting and informative experience for those interested in learning about probiotics, the process, and their health benefits. It will also provide a behind the scenes look at the daily running of the world famous brand.

PM - Volkswagen Auto Facility

Scale up the size of the product in the afternoon with a tour of the Volkswagen auto facility and get a look at one of the most prominent car manufacturers in the world.

In the evening light up your taste buds and experience the vibrant flavours of Shanghai with Hotpot. Hotpot is more than just a meal—it's a social gathering, a celebration of togetherness, and a cherished tradition that has been embraced by generations of locals and visitors alike. Sit around a bubbling pot of fragrant broth, lovingly prepared with a medley of herbs, spices, and secret ingredients, as your taste buds awaken to the myriad flavours that await.

Day 4

Shanghai Museum, People's Square

AM - Shanghai Museum

Visit the Shanghai Museum in People's Square. A great place to start from to then take a walk down The Bund to learn about China's rapid urban development.

PM - Coca-Cola factory

Keep up your tour of large international corporations with quite possibly the biggest of them all, Coca Cola. Visit the Coca Cola factory and get a behind the scenes look at the fully automated production line.

Day 5

AM - Baosteel Corporation

More commonly known as simply Baosteel, the Baosteel Corporation is one of the largest steel producers in China, and is a major firm in the global steel industry. Take this chance to gain insight into another world renown company in a different sector of business.

PM - The Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall

Gain a different perspective on Shanghai with large scale models of the city, interactive exhibits and displays of Shanghai's urban history.

Day 6

Waibaidu Bridge, Shanghai

AM - Canature Factory

After breakfast get ready for another day of getting to peak behind the curtain at some of the worlds leading business'. Start the day at the Canature Factory, a manufacturing facility that specialises in water treatment solutions. They play a vital role in meeting world demand, and make for yet another great example of the running of a worldwide business.

PM - Meiji Chocolate Factory

The Meiji Chocolate Factory has a fantastic heritage and history. Go behind the scenes of the production line, source raw coca beans and interact with staff as take a tour of the facility.

Day 7

Plane landing on runway at sunrise

AM - Departure

It is time to say goodbye to Shanghai. Make your way to the airport with plenty of time to catch your flight back to the UK.
