Day 1

La Rambla

After breakfast and a smooth check-in at the UK airport, students begin their journey to Barcelona – a city that has inspired generations of musicians, from flamenco artists to indie innovators.

Upon arrival, the group will transfer to their accommodation and settle in.

In the afternoon, there’s free time to explore La Rambla, Barcelona’s most iconic boulevard. This vibrant street pulses with the rhythm of the city — lined with musicians, performers, and cultural landmarks. For music students, it’s the perfect introduction to Barcelona’s creative soul. From the sounds of live guitar echoing in Plaça Reial to the historic music shops tucked into side streets, La Rambla offers a first-hand glimpse into the city's dynamic artistic atmosphere.

This relaxed start allows students to absorb the energy of Barcelona and prepare for the rich musical experiences ahead.

Day 2

Palau de la Música

The day begins with a guided tour of the Palau de la Música Catalana, one of Barcelona’s most iconic concert halls. Students will explore this Modernist masterpiece and discover how space, design, and acoustics influence musical performance — a fascinating blend of art, history, and sound.

Next, the group attends a live orchestral performance. Experiencing this in such a visually and acoustically stunning venue offers students a deeper appreciation of classical music’s emotional and technical power.

In the afternoon, students head for a hands-on recording session. Tailored to university groups, these workshops focus on real-world techniques using professional equipment, offering practical insight into sound production and studio work.

The evening ends with a relaxed group meal at Hard Rock Café Barcelona, giving students time to unwind and reflect on a day filled with learning and inspiration.

Day 3

View of the city from Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain with moving clouds.

The day begins with a visit to the Museu de la Música de Barcelona, home to over 500 instruments from around the world. Through interactive displays and rare pieces, students explore the evolution of music across time and cultures — a rich, hands-on experience that deepens their understanding of global musical heritage.

In the afternoon, the group visits Poble Espanyol, a cultural village showcasing architecture, crafts, and traditions from across Spain. Here, students take part in a dynamic flamenco workshop, where they learn to interpret rhythm, percussive techniques, and expressive movement. This session blends cultural immersion with physical expression, offering a deeper appreciation of Spain’s musical roots.
