Your travel itinerary could look like...
Day 1
PM - Driving tour of the city
Touch down in San Francisco where you will be met by your tour manager to start off your stay.
Immediately board a coach to your accommodation, and whilst on route why not take a tour of the city to get yourself familiar with the area. Visit iconic areas such as the Civic Center, Union Square, Chinatown, Nob Hill, Twin Peaks, Lombard Street, and Fisherman's Wharf.
Day 2
AM - The Exploratorium
After a good nights rest as you try to adjust to the jet lag, board a coach to the Exploratorium. A twenty-first century learning laboratory, there is no better place to start your tip properly, and bring out the curiosity and wonder in your students.
PM - Pier 39
After lunch give your students some free time at Pier 39.
Pier 39 is a 45-acre waterfront complex that is a gathering place for millions of San Francisco locals and visitors. In addition to its 14 full-service restaurants, 90+ shops and popular attractions, PIER 39 is home to a 5-acre waterfront park and a 300-berth marina. PIER 39 is known for its spectacular views of San Francisco Bay including the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and Alcatraz, as well as the world famous California sea lions hauled out on K-Dock.
End the day at Fisherman's Wharf where you will have some free time to walk around and visit some great souvenir shops, and take in a spectacular sunset in the harbour.
Day 3
AM - Golden Gate Bridge
Take the morning to visit the world famous Golden Gate bridge. A 4,200 foot long suspension bridge that was the world’s longest from 1937 until 1964. You’ll head to the viewing area on the San Francisco side of the water where you will have fantastic views of the bridge and the bay. In Golden Gate Park there is a 400,000 square foot structure that houses an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a 4-story rainforest all under one roof.
PM - California Academy of Science & Aquarium of the Bay
Stay in the Bay Area in the afternoon and visit the world class California Academy of Science. The world’s only aquarium-planetarium-rainforest-living museum. Come nose-to-beak with penguins and parrots, watch sharks and sting rays cruise beneath your feet, and feel the spray of the California coast. Keep up with nautical theme with and end your trip with a visit to the Aquarium of the Bay, and learn more about the conservation efforts taking place to maintain the Bay Area's unique marine life.
To round of the day in the evening, why not ride on one of the city's world famous and historical cable cars. Instantly recognisable, cable cars have run up and down the city since 1873.
Day 4
AM - Apple Visitor Center
In the morning visit the Apple Visitor Center, first opened in 1993, it looks very different now, and will allow you to walk the grounds of Apple Headquarters. On your way to the Center, stop off at the Tech Museum.
PM - Computer History Museum & return to the airport
To round out the day and your trip, why not stop at the Computer History Museum and find out why the computer is actually much older than you think? Listen to computer pioneers tell their stories from their own perspective. Discover the roots of today’s internet and mobile devices and see over 1,100 historic artefacts, including some of the very first computers from the 1940s and 1950s.
After you have taken in the museum hop aboard your coach to make your way back to San Francisco Airport, to start your return to the UK.
